Our slogan this year states that "Optimists (are) Tuned-in to Children".  One of the first actions of International President, Theo Golding, was the use of "children", (not kids), in our slogans.  As soon as you speak it, a whole new attitude is reflected; one of respect for this most precious of our country's resources...our children.  As Optimists, we are "tuned-in to the children".  We are caring, compassionate people who listen to the children and see opportunities where they might excel and learn.  Working together, we can do great things.

As we put together the conferences of 2007-2008, we will be focusing on how we can best nurture respect in our children; how the children can learn to respect themselves and thus, build their self-confidence.  We will zero in on one of the purposes of Optimism; to promote patriotism and foster respect for our country and its flag.  We'll, also, be talking about Membership-retaining the members we have and gaining new members; new members bring new ideas and new energy to our clubs.  It's a "must" to keep our clubs vibrant and serving ever more children.  The children are counting on us!  Will you be there for them?  Please say "YES".

Lastly, "Promise yourself" to come to Conferences this year so you will be a well-informed member.  come and join the fun!
